It can be hard to assess a situation when we’re heavily invested. Our wants and needs can blind us from the numerous signs that something isn’t going our way.
We might overlook less-than-ideal facts due to our innate drive to achieve what we want, so we retreat into our false reality — made up of happy moments, unconcerned with potential risks or red flags.
In other words, we may keep believing in something that isn’t true — even if signs point us to the contrary.
